BRECKENRIDGE, CO - GIRLS TRIP

Over winter break I planned the best last-minute girls trip to Breckenridge, CO, and today I'm sharing a what we did, where we stayed, and how to plan a super affordable vacation to the Breck area. I don't think I spent more than $250 on this trip and it was an actual dream, so keep reading if you're interested in planning a trip or seeing some Colorado content!

My friends and I had been wanting to plan an adventure, and I ended up finding a *DREAM* AirBnB on a major discount since it was such a last minute trip. Some nights the listing comes to $600 a night or more, but we found it discounted, and split 6 ways, we each pitched in around $170 for three nights, so just over $50 a night per person to stay in this incredible A-Frame! Here's a video tour showing off some of the house:

Want to move in, right? Me too. This AirBnB has the best views in Breckenridge, a hot tub overlooking the mountains, heated floors in the master bathroom, Sonos speakers all over the house, and room for 14 guests; I still can't get over it!

Here's the link for the listing: Spacious Alpine A-Frame

DAY 1: We woke up at 6AM, crammed everyone into the jeep, and made the 8 hour drive to Breckenridge. We couldn't check in until 4PM, but we were so excited to get there, and ended up walking up and down Main Street until it was time to check in. Main Street has tons of shops and foodie spots to explore; we spent hours there over the three-day trip! Once we could check in, we spent the rest of the night exploring the AirBnB and watching the sun set behind the mountains from our hot tub (and watching the premier of Pilot Pete's season of The Bachelor!).

DAY 2: We woke up early to catch the sunrise (I did every day - it was too stunning!!) We decided to dress cute this day to take some photos around the area. The two pics above are from our balcony at sunrise. We then drove 5 minutes into town to ride gondolas up and over the slopes. This was completely free and so fun, and you can even get off at the top of the mountain and watch the skiers and snowboarders (we didn't want to pay to ski LOL), or stop at a bar/restaurant.

After riding the gondola up and down the mountain two times, we stopped for lunch at a cute spot on Main Street. We wanted to make the trip as cheap as possible, so we did pack a bunch of groceries for meals, but we wanted to eat on Main St. for a couple of meals to complete the experience!

After our late lunch, we decided to head back to the AirBnB to relax and watch the sunset. We wanted to take some more photos in our outfits and enjoy golden hour from our balcony. We also wanted to pop some champagne and hop in the hot tub again before dark!

To finish out the night, we drove back into town to stop for dessert at Mountain Top Cookie Shop on Main Street. It was freezing out, but it was so worth it to see all the Christmas lights - highly recommend!

DAY 3: We woke up to the prettiest, pinkest, most PFG (pink feed goals) sunrise! This day was our dedicated snow day; we woke up to get some brunch on Main Street at the Columbine Cafe, and then headed to Carter Park, a nearby free sledding hill. Our AirBnB hosts were kind enough to supply us with two sleds, and there were even more sleds for public use at the hill. I can't even tell you how much fun (and how much of a workout) it was to race each other down the slope!

After sledding the morning away, we stopped at the AirBnB for lunch, then headed towards Keystone to find some hikes/lookout points! We found that most trails were closed due to ice and snow, but we did find a stunning lookout at Sapphire Point overlooking the frozen reservoir. We were also planning on ice skating outdoors, so if you visit be sure to look at the options in the area.

We hopped in the hot tub once again to warm up after our snow day before driving 20 minutes to Frisco, CO, to shop around at their outlet malls. We ended the night with movies and drinks and enjoying the snowfall outside our a-frame window. We also packed up, because our check-out was at 10AM the next morning.

I hope you enjoyed this little travel guide/trip recap! Our trip to the mountains was the perfect way to kick off 2020, and barely broke the bank, as the only things we really spent money on were the AirBnB ($170/person), food ($50), and splitting gas ($30). Finding special AirBnB's to stay in is a hobby of mine; it's my favorite way to plan trips, and I super recommend downloading the app and looking for unique stays to book. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about road tripping to Breck!
