I just got back from Orange Beach, AL - a little sunburned but a lot tan - and my first time at the gulf! We went on a mini vacation (Thursday - Monday) with a group of friends and it was seriously so great to get away to the beach and relax!
I've never been in such warm, clear water! We were so excited when we finally got to the beach after the 14 hour drive, we honestly didn't take that many photos on the beach. The photos in this post were taken at Orange Beach, but we also spent time at Gulf Shores and Fort Morgan.
We stayed in the cutest little AirBnB in Orange Beach. I'm convinced AirBnB's are the way to go; they're affordable, adorable, and usually fully stocked with amenities! It feels like you're staying in your own little vacation home, which is so much more fun than a cramped hotel room.
My favorite dining spots that we found near the beach were "Bill's By The Beach", a fancier dinner spot with views of Gulf Shores, and "The Southern Grind", the perfect brunch/lunch spot with coffee, gelato, sandwiches, and beach-themed home decor for sale. Both spots had fun, beachy vibes and amazing service, and I actually ended up getting a crab cake sandwich at both restaurants!
It was extremely hot and humid in Alabama, another reason we didn't pose for too many photos. My bestie Jayci and I packed so many matching outfits on this trip by accident, though (peep our matching bikinis and sunglasses in the photos below). We both packed black and white gingham tops, matching bikinis, the same smocked & ruffled crop top, and bought matching tops while we were there! It's funny how similar our style is, and I was living for all the matching looks!
Our beach vacation was so much fun and we unanimously agreed it was too short! There are so many cool things to do near the gulf (parasailing, dolphin cruises, etc.). Next time we visit, we want to stay longer or drive over to New Orleans and visit there for a few days!
