I just started my senior year at K-State and moved into my first ever apartment and am so excited to share it with you today! This place has been such a homey, happy space for my roommate and I; Caroline and I actually met on a study abroad in January, and have been besties ever since our travels in Europe! Now we have our own very cozy, very pink place to call home, and we've had a blast decorating. Keep scrolling for photos, video tours, and links to shop decor and outfit details!

MY ROOM

Welcome to my white and pink paradise! Funny story - we actually couldn't fit my box spring up the stairs into the apartment, so my bed is much lower to the floor than it was supposed to be. I wanted a clean and bright space with lots of natural light (and fairy lights!) and I'm so so happy with my room! My white comforter set and pink striped sheets are both from Target, and I found my other pillow at Home Goods.

This gold shelf was actually a garage sale find; it was originally black and we spray painted it gold and replaced some of the glass shelves and voila - a beautiful shelf for all my keepsakes! In the video below, you can see you decorated the shelf with some of my favorite pieces, from purses and prints, to flowers and fashion books. I'll link some of the items on my shelf below!

- Mini black croc purse - Showpo

- Pearl purse - Showpo

- Pink shadow box & white picture frame - Hobby Lobby

- "All In Good Taste" - Kate Spade

- "The Fashion Book" - Barnes & Noble

- "The Little Dictionary of Fashion" - Shopbop

- Eternity Rose (lasts a year!) - Venus et Fleur

- Kate Spade mug - Zappos

- Kate Spade gold spotted shadow box & candles - Marshall's

I wanted a statement piece of wall art above my bed, so I painted this canvas with various shades of pinks, golds, nudes, and white, and then used modge podge to add champagne glitter!

This is my desk/vanity corner, almost entirely made up with IKEA products! I already owned the IKEA Alex drawers, so all I had to do was order the tabletop and legs to complete my desk. I also purchased the tabletop mirror from IKEA, which has a drawer attached that's perfect for jewelry or beauty products (see below). I found my desk chair on Amazon, and I'm also linking this pink and white Calvin Klein wastebasket that I picked up at Home Goods, and my pink marble laptop case.

Storing my favorite jewelry pieces inside my IKEA vanity mirror!

My closet is extremely tiny, so I purchased an IKEA clothing rack to store some of my clothes. I actually love this little corner and like that my favorite clothing pieces are on display - if I can't wear them everyday, at least I get to look at them! My sheepskin rug is from IKEA, my white stool and gold spotted nesting boxes are from Home Goods, and I picked up a plant from Dillon's!

In the photo below (and at the top of this post), you'll see the box of roses with my initial in it - this was a DIY project that I will be creating a post around/selling locally. The design is based off of the extravagant (& expensive!) Venus et Fleur rose boxes that are so popular, and I used three dozen roses, some floral foam, and a Kate Spade nesting box to make my own!

LIVING ROOM

Carol and I adore our living room space! It's very cozy and feminine, and our pink rug was an Amazon find that I will keep forever! I think it's my favorite piece in the entire place - click here to shop! We decorated the room with string lights I picked up in the Walmart garden section, picked up our white TV stand for free from a friend, and I painted some abstract canvasses to tie the room together. You can order these exact canvasses from my personal Etsy account here.

At the moment, we're still on the hunt for another couch/loveseat to complete the room, but we've been happy with our oversized bean bag and tufted loveseat! We're also working on getting some wall art up and adopting even more plants!

White tray and candle - Marshall's | Succulent - Dillon's | Coasters - Kate Spade

My first full weekend in the Big Apple consisted of brunch, sightseeing, gelato, watching the sunset from a rooftop bar, and miles upon miles of walking. I say weekend, but in truth it’s a bunch of weekend activities stuffed into one Saturday since I work most of the day Friday and Sunday! I’m a little behind, but I’ll be  posting my weekend excursions in the city from every week I’m here, with outfits linked and details galore!

We started the day off with brunch at The Butcher’s Daughter in West Village, where we discovered the best photo lighting and snapped a few pics with our orange/pineapple/passion fruit mimosas!

We walked off our brunch calories on The Highline, a walkway above the city that used to be an old railroad, and followed it all the way to Hudson Yards and New York’s newest tourist attraction, The Vessel.

Next on our list was the Flatiron building; I’ve always wanted to visit the Flatiron district, and the excursion was made even sweeter by the coconut and coffee gelato I scooped up. We found the perfect photo op spot with the Flatiron, and then sat down in Madison Square Park to rest our tired feet and finish our desserts.

After a full day of sight-seeing, we caught the subway home to freshen up and relax before heading to Le Bain, a popular rooftop with a stunning view of Manhattan and the Hudson. I intentionally wore this Lilly Pulitzer skort to match the pink chairs and green turf detailing of the space!

The sunset from Le Bain rooftop was incredible, my coconut “Girls Need Love” cocktail was yummy, and to my hangry girl delight, they even had a pink crepe stand on the rooftop. I can’t even describe the level of content I was feeling while eating my banana nutella crepes from a rooftop couch/bed with my roomies, hypnotized by the glittering Manhattan skyline at night.

I have officially been living in NYC for just over a week now, and I am in LOVE with this adventure! I am truly having the best experience out here; it’s been even better than I could have imagined so far! In today’s post, I’m going to share some of the things that happened in my first week in the Big Apple, and post photos, foodie fun, and outfit details!

The day of my flight to NYC was a little hectic. I actually woke up late – at the time I wanted to leave for the airport (!!) – and had to run through the airport with two 50lb bags, my purse, and a carryon, and was actually still going through security when my flight began boarding! Everything worked out fine though, and it was all smooth sailing, other than having to taxi around in the air and on the tarmac at LaGuardia due to a rainstorm.

I got to my apartment in the financial district around 7:30PM, where I finally got to reconnect with my fellow PINK Rep roomies, Arianna and Gianna, and move in to our 26th floor studio! Let me tell you these girls are so great and make this experience 1000x better; we’re having so much fun together exploring the Big Apple! We originally met last fall on the PINK incentive trip to L.A., and became besties, despite living in different states – Ohio (Gigi), Florida (Ari), and Kansas!

My first full day in NYC was Memorial Day, and we planned a full day of sight-seeing and photo-taking. Our first stop was the Brooklyn Bridge; we walked all the way across it after riding the ferry to Brooklyn from Manhattan. We also stopped by the popular Dumbo, Brooklyn photo op, awakening my inner Gossip Girl dreams as I posed for pics outside character Dan Humphrey’s Brooklyn loft!

After lunch, I purchased my metro card (we walk and ride the subways everywhere) and we got frosé at a rooftop bar with stunning views of the Empire State and midtown Manhattan. It was a sweet start to my summer in the city, and a great ending to Memorial Day weekend!

The next day I started my internship at Patrick J Clayton Productions, a full-service, creative event planning company, and I’ve been truly enjoying it so far. This week I got to help prep for a huge beauty bash event (with brands such as Becca, Tarte, Buxom) and be a part of the set design for a commercial filmed at a nice house in Jersey! My commute is about 20 minutes, and the office is situated near Chelsea Market above tons of fun flower shops, and I love starting my mornings walking through the flowery, perfumed sidewalks!

I intern for PJCP Monday through Thursday, and picked up some Friday and Sunday shifts at the PINK store in the World Trade Center, right next to my apartment. New York is crazy expensive, so I want to have money to enjoy my time here!!

That's all for now! Stay tuned for more NYC adventures!!
